Depression & God’s Grace

There’s no shortage of stigma around depression, including within the church. In Exodus 6:9, we read that God’s people couldn’t hear God’s voice because of their ‘broken spirit’ (depression) and ‘harsh slavery’ (oppression). God responds not with a rebuke but with kindness, faithfully continuing his plan to free his people. God promises the same for those who have placed their faith in Jesus. There is grace and mercy for those who are depressed.
